Syrian security officials destroy penis of thirteen year old boy demonstrator and kill him

[Abdul Goldstein, Middle East and African Contributor]

MailOnline Syria’s officials are going all out on the people power demonstrators as shown up by the recent horrific execution of thirteen-year-old Hamza Ali al-Khateeb, which had involved Syrian security forces acting under the orders of the country’s beseiged president, Bashar al-Assad, to destroy the boys penis.

The child had been picked up by Syrian officials in Jiza, a village in Dar’a province of Syria, around a month ago and later on his body punctured like sieve and minus his penis, was returned to his anguished parents. His knees has been destroyed and his  neck broken also.

The family was warned by Syrian police against talking too much, but apparently not enough to persuade them to go along with the unspeakable act of cruelty out of fear of being hurt. As a result, the father has been arrested and might probably be facing the same fate as his son.

The news of the boy that shocked the world was posted on YouTube, apparently by a family member, as after the rebellion against the president which in fact had turned into a civil war, Syria was shut to the members of  the international press.

However, it seems that instead of daunting the rebels, the murder has inspired a wave of fierce protests against the injustice of the current regime. According to expatriated human rights activist Radwan Ziadeh and as reported by the Washington Post, the child has already become one of the most powerful symbols of the revolt.

‘(His death) is the sign of the sadism of the Assad regime and its security forces,’  Radwan said.

Twitter forced by California court to hand over personal details and tweets of politician accused of libel by British group

[Jonas Surrey, Legal Affairs Contributor]

MailOnline: The social networking site, Twitter, which has more than 175 million users, has been forced by a California court to give up the personal information tweets of a British politician, Ahmed Khan, after a British local authority started an international court case complaining of libel perpetrated by the politician.  The judgment by the California court has started off a huge row in the USA concerning privacy and freedom of speech.

The local authority, South Tyneside Council, is reported to have spent more than £100,000 on the case which intends to bring to justice the author of a blog who goes by the name of Mr. Monkey, which is believed to be the blog of Mr. Khan.

Mr. Khan has refuted the allegations and is reported to be angry with Twitter for having disclosed his details. MailOnline reports him as saying: “This is Orwellian. It is like something out of 1984..if  a council can take this kind of action against one of its own councillors simply because they don’t like what I say, what hope is there for freedom of speech or privacy…I was never even told they were taking this case to court in California. The first I heard was when Twitter contacted me…I had just 14 days to defend the case and I was expected to fly 6,000 miles to hire my own lawyer – all at my expense”.

Discussions between the politicians were reported to be warm and constructive with every hint of the ‘elusive’ special relationship in the air.

It is reported that points discussed covered how to induce ‘a sense of optimism and national mission’, whilst attending to declining living standards and the re-establishment of economies severely damaged by the financial crisis. Climate change, foreign policy challenges in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Libya also were featured in the discussions.

UK Government agencies lose £527 million in 2010/2011 to fraudsters

[Benedikt Hoffman, Financial Fraud News Contributor]

International Association for Asset Recovery:  The UK government is proving to be a soft touch for fraudsters as it lost taxpayer‘s money to fraudsters to the tune of some £527 million in the period 2010/2011 according to KPMG‘s Government Fraud Barometer published this May.

According to the report, in the past year, there was a 142 percent uplift in fraud incidents against government agencies.

Whereas, the high level of fraud incidents against government agencies had decreased in 2007/2008 as a result of the government’s focus on value added tax (VAT) cheats which led to a high number of prosecutions in that year, but the focus on tax skimming by fraudsters has returned with a vengence according to recent trends.

Around 114 tax fraudsters were prosecuted in the past year in cases representing around £527 million in thefts (up from £277m in 2008/09).

According to Jeremy Outen, UK Head of Fraud at KPMG: “Financial criminals are now becoming more businesslike and methodical ….The current generation of organized crime is targeting fraud – making payment systems, such as banking, tax and benefits vulnerable to attack…..Traditionally, criminals have relied upon physical acts, such as robbery – they can now commit a fraud and achieve the same returns for much less risk. This is fuelling the audacity and ambition of professional criminals, driving up the size of a fraud…..In addition, technology and large scale processing (such as online or call centers) have made large scale frauds easier to accomplish.”

Death of an icon – Strauss Kann falls on his sword, announces resignation today

[John Sempertoller, Politics Contributor]

Telegraph.co.uk: A huge sigh of relief was the expected outcome from the IMF and the supporters of Straus-Kahn’s France presidential bid, when the entrenched bureaucrat announced his resignation as IMF head today.

The reasons for his decision, he says, is to enable him to have more time to fight to prove his innocence.  However, the case against Strauss Kahn seems very strong and with others coming forward to claim that he too abused them as well as to reveal lurid details of his sexual past which has included using high-class prostitutes and the services of  the high-class pimp, Kristin Davis (pictured above). Therefore,  it seems that ‘plea bargaining‘ and ‘I ask the court to take all other offences into consideration’ can only be the main strategies for his lawyers at this stage.

In the meantime, an anonymous source at the IMF reports that British ex-Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, who is widely tipped to replace Strauss Kahn, is reported to be making preparations to take up this new post in a matter of days.

More women come out with sex charges against horny IMF chief Straus-Kahn who is now on suicide watch in a New York prison

[Samantha Templeton-Brewster, Celebrities Contributor]

MailOnline: It seems that sheer hell has decended upon the apparently sex-crazed ‘rutting chimpanzee’, AKA the unfortunate IMF chief, Dominique Straus Kahn,  following his imprisonment on charges of forced anal and oral sex upon a black Sofitel Hotel chambermaid in New York.

That is because the bandwagon of his abusees is getting bigger at a fast past as an increasing number of women are coming forward with allegations that he had forced himself upon them in a number of sexually inappropriate ways in the past.  However, no matter how different the individual cases are, the underlying thing message is clear- the IMF chief ‘has a problem’ with curbing his incandescent sexual desire.

His Twitter-like following of abusees now include the French Socialist party deputy Aurelie Filipetti, who reportedly had been salaciously ‘groped’ by Straus-Kahn; a journalist who did not want to mention her full name but who  reportedly had been offered sex in exchange for an exclusive  interview with the rampant IMF chief;  a Mexican chambermaid at the Sofitel who is claiming to have been sexually assaulted too along with her New York colleague whose allegations resulted in the IMF’s chief ending up in a prison cell and who’s DNA samples have matched up with those found on Strauss Kahn.

Moreover, rumours  are resurfacing that the sexually insatiable  IMF chief used to frequently visit a high-profile Paris swinger’s club Les Chandelles, which offers its clients to freely swap partners and  realize  any sexual fantasies imaginable with unknown males and females in darkened rooms.  It seems that his rough handling of many that he met there will be likely to erupt into another barrage of claims against the embattled Frenchman.

To cap it all, according to the words of the French  television  producer and host  Thierry Ardisson, who reportedly has known Mr. Kahn for quite a while, ‘Everyone knew about it. I have 14 women pals who have told me: “He tried to jump me.” I think that guy has an illness: you can enjoy s*******, but not to that point. He needs therapy.’

Well, Strauss Kahn is certainly likely to get therapy for his illness in a New York prison where inmates offer a special kind of therapy for sex offenders.

Breaking News: UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown to head IMF

[Angelique De Strange, Crime News Contributor]

Following the spiralling demise of IMF chief, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, who is now in a New York prison charged with serious sex abuse charges including forced anal and oral sex against a black chambermaid which took place at a posh hotel in the city where he was a guest, an anonymous source at the IMF has confirmed that ex prime minister, Gordon Brown, is tipped to be in the post in a matter of weeks.

Mr. Brown, widely blamed for the ongoing meltdown of the British economy and mad-hatter schemes like the now defunct ID card scheme for British citizens, is said to be chomping at the bit for the opportunity to save the world as the IMF’s new chief.

It is expected that the IMF will make the announcement in a matter of days and Mr. Brown, it is rumoured is already looking for a residence in Strasbourg.

For workaholic Mr. Brown, there will be no chance of any sex scandals and analysts are saying that with his track record of spectacular failure, he is the best man for the job because the IMF desperately needs a scapegoat (someone to fire) when the PIGS countries effect their imminent default on the IMF bailout loans.

No bailout for horny IMF chief, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, for sexual assault and attempted rape

[Angelique De Strange, Crime News Contributor]

Update: Wednesday 18th 2011 Strauss Kahn is reported to be on suicide watch in prison. European leaders are distancing themselves from him, with the German Chancellor saying outright that he should ‘consider his position’. However, his French friends in high places are alleging a set-up, but fresh sex charges are coming up thick and fast from other women who are claiming that he had taken copious advantage of them.

In the meantime in respect to his immediate plight, DNA tests are on the cards to prove positive and a consensual sex plea is being hinted by Strauss Kahn’s lawyers.  At the IMF,  fierce lobbying by ex British prime minister, Gordon Brown, has resulted in him being tipped to replace Strauss Kahn in a matter of days. An anonymous source reports that Mr. Brown has said: “I am looking forward to the challenge”.

Update: Monday 16th May 2011a handcuffed Dominique Strauss-Kahn appeared at an arraignment in New York and was declared a flight risk by the presiding judge. Accordingly, his bail application was refused and he is now being held in  jail pending his trial.

Not a good day for Mr. Kahn as a new sex attack claim has now been started against him by a French woman who said that he had attacked her back in 2007. READ MORE…..

Sunday 15th May 2011 , Guardian.co.uk: Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the current IMF head, is in another sex scandal, but this time it’s serious.  Today, the horny financier was arrested in New York’s JFK Airport and charged with brutally sexually assaulting and raping, or attempting to take serious advantage of a chambermaid in a posh £1850 per night New York hotel where he was a guest.

A visibly shaken Strauss-Kahn, who is 62, was frogmarched by plain-clothes police officers from the first-class cabin of an Air France aircraft waiting to take off to Paris. Later on Manhattan police formally arrested him and charged him with a criminal sexual act, attempted rape and unlawful imprisonment.

New York Police said that the alleged attack took place at the Sofitel New York on West 44th Street, where the attacker, Strauss-Kahn was staying. His 32 year old victim, a chambermaid, said she entered Strauss-Kahn’s room at around midday when the attack took place.

According to the police: “She told detectives he came out of the bathroom naked, ran down a hallway to the foyer where she was, pulled her into a bedroom and began to sexually assault her, according to her account. She pulled away from him and he dragged her down a hallway into the bathroom where he engaged in a criminal sexual act, according to her account to detectives. He tried to lock her into the hotel room.”

Strauss-Kahn had already departed the hotel in an apparent hurry by the time the police arrived as his  mobile phone and other personal items had been left behind.

New York state law prescribes that forcing oral sex is a criminal sexual act which is in the same class as attempted rape. The penalty for the offence is 15 to 20 year imprisonment. Unlawful imprisonment carries a sentence of between 3 and five years.

Times Online reports that back in 2008, Mr. Strauss-Khan had been involved again it a similar scandal. That time, Mario Blejer, a senior Argentine economist, said that Mr. Khan had seduced his wife, Piroska Nagy at the Davos international forum.  His complaints are being investigated by lawyers in Washington and the case is still ongoing.

Mr. Strauss-Khan did not deny the incident.  Mrs. Nagy, who had been employed in the Africa department of the IMF, left after the incident and is now employed in London at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) which job, apparently, Mr. Strauss-Khan had used his influence to get for her.

“We will hunt you down and kill you wherever you are”, President Obama authorises international death squads

[Kim Treadweather, Political Contributor]

BBC:  President Obama, in his defence of  his assassination of Osama Bin Laden in Abbottabad, Pakistan recently, has sent a clear message to those who cause trouble for the USA, their associates and those perceived to be connected with them: “Wherever you are, we will hunt you down and kill you”.

The president’s message effectively legalises the USA’s right to perpetrate extra-judicial killings on foreign soil. In particular, having declared that ‘justice has been done’, upon hearing the news of  Bin Laden’s assassination by Navy SEALS in Pakistan, the president had commented that the execution had been: “Within the bounds of our customs and traditions”.

Although, the death of the man who had been widely held to have been the architect of the the 11 September 2001 attacks on the USA which killed around 3000 people, was welcome news for most worldwide, questions are starting to emerge about the legality of the assassination.

BBC World Service said that according to Benjamin Ferencz, an ex Nuremburg trials prosecutor: “The issue here is whether what was done was an act of legitimate self-defence.. it would have been better to capture Bin Laden and send him to a court….killing a captive who poses no immediate threat is a crime under military law as well as all other law….”.  Adding to this, British law professor, Phillipe Sands QC told the BBC:  “As a matter of international law, one country is not free to enter another country apparently without the authorisation of that country, and intervene, whether to kidnap or kill a national of a third state”.

This concern has also been tabled by the UN special rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, Christof Heyns as well as the special rapporteur on the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms while countering terrorism, Martin Scheinin. They said:-

“In certain exceptional cases, use of deadly force may be permissible as a measure of last resort… including in operations against terrorists …however, the norm should be that terrorists be dealt with as criminals, through legal processes of arrest, trial and judicially decided punishment …actions taken by states in combating terrorism, especially in high profile cases, set precedents for the way in which the right to life will be treated in future instances”.

Following from this, international law analysts are saying that if the USA situation is recognised as legal, there is nothing to stop other countries, with total impunity, as in the case of Bin Laden’s assassination by the USA, authorising their own death squads to hunt down and kill in foreign countries those they perceive to be their enemies, or who have committed acts of terror, or those who are perceived to be assisting them.

That, they say will create a world whereby the rights of  all for criminal justice before a court, will disappear entirely and encourage regimes to summarily dispose of anyone perceived to be a threat to them, or their interests.

In that regard, it is important, they are saying, that the USA is made to account before an international tribunal for its assassination of Bin Laden, who by all accounts was unarmed man and had offered no resistance to the SEALS who had killed him and who had subsequently disposed of his body without the order of any court, effectively preventing a post-mortem examination as to the circumstances of his death.
