Attorney Chris Riser of Quatloos/ Quatloosia (aka Financial & Tax Fraud Education Associates Inc.) unlicensed to practice law as UK solicitor

Mr. Chris Riser and his partner, Jay Adkisson, both US attorneys and Gulf war/ Viet Nam veterans respectively, run a virulent anti-fraud campaign via their site Quatloos/ Quatloosia under their company Financial & Tax Fraud Education Associates, Inc. Essentially, the two publish anonymously whatever they want against those they deem to be ‘fraudsters’ allowing no right of redress whatsoever.

The attorneys are licensed by the bars of Texas, Oklahoma and California (Jay Adkisson) and for Chris Riser, Georgia and North Carolina. They also have high profiles with organisations such as the American Bar Association, US Senate committee on Financial Crimes, American Bar Association’s Asset Protection Planning Committee, California Association of Judgment Professionals, U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, American College of  Obstetricians and Gynecologists, IRS Criminal Investigations. However, although Mr. Riser advertises himself out on his website and in various other advertisements that he is admitted to practice law as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England, in fact he is not so qualified and has never been authorised to act as a solicitor as confirmed by the UK Solicitor’s Regulation Authority (SRA) today:-

It is not clear how many of Mr.Riser’s clients have been defrauded by his representation that he was qualified to act as a UK Solicitor, but judging from various complaints on internet complaint sites from members of the US public upon him and his partner, Jay Adkisson, it is likely that the two will be facing criminal charges soon.

In recent years, both attorneys have come under fire from critics who say that their site Quatloos/ Quatloosia is a hate site designed to destroy their competitors and to gain unfair advantages with clients by publishing defamatory remarks about their competitors on the site under the cover of protection of defamation under the US Freedom of Communication Act.

EU Commissioners target Lukashenko

According to EU Observer, the EU’s Commissioners are chomping at the bit for outright war with the ‘anti-democratic’ regimes in eastern Europe. This time (and it is certainly not the first time) the EU’s is targeting (by the way – it is the same EU that had supplied weapons of crowd destruction as recent as 2009 to the Colonel of Libya, now under siege by his people) the president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko.

The EU’s plans, which involve disrupting Mr. Lukashenko’s personal income  by blocking his accounts, as well as to bring his plans for the next state budget down, were adopted after several residents who had been protesting against his imminent re-election to the presidency were jailed for four years and apparently severely tortured.

However, it seems that no matter how much of his actions are disapproved by the west, the wily president’s survival skills remain redoubtable. Since his rise to the presidency in 2004,  Mr. Lukashenko has been the man in charge of all that happens within Belarus and has  ‘survived’ countless political and economic counter-measures from the EU and the USA. So, it seems, the Commissioners will need to wait for some time before he can be dislodged.

Bradley Manning strikes back

Guardian UK reports that David Coombs, the lawyer of Bradley Manning the US Wikileaks detainee, has released a letter from Mr. Manning in which the 23 year old complains of how he has been “left to languish under the unduly harsh conditions of max [security] custody” after he was transported from Kuwait to be interned in the Quantico marine base prison in Virgina last July.

He says that since January he has been on ‘suicide watch’ which means that he is stripped naked every night and has been subject to frequent strippings and ‘unlawful pre-trial punishment’. He believes that his treatment, which has included taunting and and other forms of verbal harrassment from the prison staff is because he is being punished for the support he is getting from those who feel that he is being victimised.

Since details of his treatment have been made public, it is reported that Amnesty International and the UN are looking to begin an enquiry to determine whether he is in fact being tortured.

Mr. Manning is under charges of ‘aiding the enemy’ among others for his whistleblowing revelations to Wikileaks when he was a serving soldier, which showed up widespread abuse of Afgans civilians and apparently unlawful killings of them and others (including journalists) by US troops in Afganistan.  His charges mean that he may receive the death penalty in the end.

Massive quake strikes Japan

Guardian UK reports that a 8.9 magnitude earthquake has hit Japan with serious aftershocks in tow. There are also tsunami fears for neighbouring countries. So far 32 people have been killed.

According to Dr Roger Musson of the British Geological Survey, it is the sixth largest earthquake recorded since 1900 and in comparison to the recent earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand it is “thousands of times bigger, this is really huge”.  CNN Chile has reported that the tsunami waves will hit the country today.
